The Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, located on the University of Washington campus and the historic land of the Coast Salish Peoples, offered an opportunity to showcase native plants of the Pacific Northwest in a highly-trafficked urban environment. A Doug Fir forest, Camas Meadow, and 'Burke Yard,' accommodate museum program within a rich, native-plant landscape. Camas meadows are an at-risk plant community, important ecologically and culturally for the indigenous peoples of this region.
